Tungsten Carbide Impregnated (TCI) process protects auger flights from abrasive wear better than any alternative method. Crushed tungsten carbide is impregnated into the flight edges (and outer faces, if desired) by melting the flight metal to a depth between .250” and .375” and dropping crushed tungsten carbide particles into the molten puddle. After cooling, the tungsten carbide is solidified deep into the parent metal.
